Industrial Disc Brakes
Complimenting our Industrial Brake Disc Pads E. Fletcher (Chesterfield) Limited have introduced a range of Industrial Brake Discs or Industrial Brake Rotors as they are also known.
Industrial Brake Discs generally come in three basic designs.
(a): "Flat" Discs; basically as described but may have certain grooves machined for alignment to mating components, be that hub or transmission flange.
(b): "Top Hat" or "Cotton Reel" Discs; these are again as described in shape having a central cylindrical body with a brake disc area on one end and a hub / flange mating area on the other.
(c): "Shrouded" Discs: These are a flat type of disc with a raised, (shrouded), central area, on this central raised area would be the locating holes for fitment to the mating component, these are commonly popular as Transmission Brake Discs.
Further to this all three of the above mentioned discs can be described as "Solid" discs or "Vented" discs. The vented discs having a thicker hollow pad mating area with cooling fins moulded into them so as to improve air flow & therefore cooling.
All discs are manufactured from "cast" materials as these prove to offer better performance when used in conjunction with Industrial type Friction Materials.
Industrial Brake Discs, (Industrial Brake Rotors), from E. Fletcher (Chesterfield) Limited are currently available for fitment to certain Volvo, Caterpillar, Moxy, Bell and Terex machines.
